In both my photos and my writing, I explore the relationships between humanity, technology and nature. I started in West Virginia, where I was born, and have continued to Oregon, where I currently reside. Along the way, I've visited 45 states, lived in Japan and traveled in China and Vietnam. My photographs and articles have appeared in numerous print and Web-based publications, including Trains and Railfan & Railroad magazines, the journal and Web sites of the Center for Railroad Photography & Art, calendars from McMillan Publications, and museums including the California State Railroad Museum.

- March 2009: I have a 10-page feature in the April 2009 issue of Railfan & Railroad magazine about the Huanan Narrow Gauge steam railway in Northeastern China.
- February 2009: One of my images was selected for the cover of the April 2009 issue of Trains magazine, available in most bookstores. Four more of my photos appear inside the issue.
- November 2008: One of my images was selected by Trains magazine for its "100 Greatest Railroad Photographs" special issue. The issue is available here for $10US.
